Built for one clear question: is this site down for everyone, or only for me?

1) Multi-Region Probe Set

Every lookup runs from 8 regions: US East (IAD), US West (SFO), Europe West (CDG), Europe Central (FRA), Southeast Asia (Singapore), Asia East (Tokyo), Oceania (Sydney), and South America (Sao Paulo).

2) Verdict Logic and Timeouts

We classify checks as Up, Down, or Mixed based on usable responses: access-denied responses can count as reachable, while timeouts remain unconfirmed. Per-region probe timeout is 7.5 seconds per HTTP attempt. Mixed usually indicates route, DNS, CDN, or policy asymmetry.

Is Website Down Checker free to use?

Yes. Normal manual checks are free and do not require an account.

How do I check a website from several locations?

Enter its domain. We request the origin from eight configured locations and show usable regional results. Compare the status codes, coverage and timestamps with your own browser failure.

What do Up, Down, and Mixed mean?

Up means a majority of usable probes received a final response below 500, including access-denied responses. Down reflects DNS failures or widespread server errors under the documented rules. Mixed includes partial results, timeouts and inconclusive evidence. None of these is a complete application test.

Are the locations independent providers?

No. The eight configured locations use one hosting provider, Vercel. They do not represent every country, residential ISP or mobile network. Unavailable probes reduce coverage.

Does this test a specific page or sign-in?

No. We check the origin, follow redirects and inspect HTTP responses. Paths and query strings are not tested; browser rendering and authenticated actions are outside the check.

Is every recheck a new measurement?

Not necessarily. Regional responses can be cached. Compare the original observation timestamps before treating two results as independent checks.

Do recent checks show uptime history?

No. Recent public checks are visitor-triggered samples, not continuous monitoring or an uptime percentage. Your personal recent-history list is stored in your browser.
