Mission
WebsiteDown.org exists to reduce outage guesswork. Instead of relying on a single local check, we give you a quick global signal you can use in support replies, incident channels, and status updates.
How Our Checks Work
Each lookup runs in parallel from multiple regions and returns both a verdict and per-region results. This helps you distinguish global downtime, regional outages, DNS issues, and local network problems in seconds.
- Sample regions: US East (IAD), US West (SFO), Europe West (CDG), Europe Central (FRA), Asia South (Singapore), Asia East (Tokyo), Oceania (Sydney), South America (Sao Paulo).
- Verdict logic: Up when most probes succeed, Down when most fail, Mixed when results disagree by region.
- Probe type: lightweight reachability and HTTP response checks designed for fast triage.
- Limitations: reachable does not guarantee full frontend rendering or authenticated user flow health.
